Father's Day
I don't do a lot for Father's Day. I figure that they aren't going to do a lot for Mother's Day, so why pump up one holiday over another. I usually buy my own Mother's Day gift and Mark does the same. I usually have Ellen make something for Mark and each of the granddads. This year we had planned to have everyone over to our house for Sunday dinner. It is much easier for me to have everyone over to our house than to go somewhere else--if guests bring the bulk of the food, which they usually do. Sadly, we had to change plans at the last minute. Ellen woke up with an upset stomach. Mark offered to stay home with her, so I took John to church. We changed venues to Mom and Dad's house, so everything worked out. Oddly, Ellen hasn't been sick the rest of the day and is acting fine, so I don't know what was up this morning.
