I am enjoying the calm before the storm, I guess. Today is the day before Thanksgiving. We are going over to my parents' house for lunch. I have been assigned sweet potato casserole, pecan pie, and deviled eggs. I am also bringing a pumpkin pie, because it seems like a thanksgiving-ny thing to bring--not because my family will actually eat any of it. They seem to gravitate toward Nana's chocolate pie.
I want this season to be about family and not about stress and rushing around. That being said, I'm not sure how I am going to finish my Christmas shopping with my family constantly underfoot! Just kidding. I will get it all done, somehow.
I am debating whether or not to make batches of cookies this year. I did last year and gave away a lot, but I don't have room in the freezer this year to store them until the giving time.
Ellen has a birthday party next Saturday. On that same day, we are supposed to visit the nursing home with our Sunday School class and have a potluck afterwards. I need to start a list.
