I like to get up in the mornings before my kids do, just so that I can do my morning Bible Study and eat breakfast in peace. This is not easy to do, considering that the kids usually get up before 6:00 am. I have found that if I am able to beat them up, my day usually goes smoother and I start off in a better mood.
I thought my routine was a difficult one, especially during the school year when I have to get up by 5:20, until I talked to another teacher mom with two young children. She leaves the house each day by 5:45. I didn't catch what time she gets up, but it must be early! She says that summer is a treat because she gets to sleep in until 5:00 am!
In general, I like the quietness of the mornings, before the day gets busy. I like hearing the birds sing and having breakfast with my Ladycat in my lap. However, when I don't get to bed on time, early mornings take on a different tone. I've just learned to accept the fact that I will always have to get up early!
