Dance Night

Tuesday nights are dance class nights. Ellen's class starts at 5:15, which is an awkward time for us, but somehow we make it work. I wish that we could go immediately after school, instead of having an hour to waste. Ellen has ballet, tap, and tumbling in this class, and out of all three, I think she enjoys the tumbling the best. We started in August in a class of four, that has since grown to 12 girls. Ellen is one of the oldest. About every 6 weeks they have a parent observation night where we can go into the dance room and watch the girls. Otherwise, we wait in the tiny waiting room, or we can leave and spend our time elsewhere. The waiting room gets really crowded, so lately I've been leaving and going to the library. We are looking forward to Ellen's recital in May!

Lightning McQueen Rides Again!

It's been a few weeks since I last posted. Life has been pretty busy, but since I had a few minutes I thought I would give an update. (Jeff, are you reading this?!)

John turned three on February 1 and for his birthday, Nana and Papa gave him a Lightning McQueen electric car. He is BIG STUFF in that car! It doesn't go as fast as the secondhand electric jeep (acquired from a yard sale) but it is MUCH cooler! After all, it is "McQueen!" Mark says that there isn't room in his garage at home to store these wonderful vehicles, so they live at Nana's. Every warm, or even semi-warm day after school we go over to Nana's for riding! John is getting pretty good at guiding it and only bumps into things occasionally.

Look for John on the NASCAR circuit in a few years! Maybe he will support his poor parents in our old age!
